Carbon Reduction Plan
ADHD Certify Ltd Carbon Reduction Plan (PPN 06/21 Aligned)Version 2.0 — March 2026 Reference: AC-CRP-001
1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
ADHD Certify Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, in full alignment with the UK Government’s Net Zero Strategy and the NHS Net Zero ambitions set out in the Greener NHS programme and the NHS Long Term Plan. This commitment also aligns with UK Government procurement policy as set out in Procurement Policy Note PPN 06/21.
We recognise our responsibility as a CQC-registered healthcare provider to contribute to a sustainable health system and to embed environmental considerations into our operations, procurement decisions and service delivery. As a provider seeking to deliver services to NHS-referred patients under framework agreements, we take our obligations under the Greener NHS supplier framework seriously and are committed to working collaboratively with Participating Authorities to support their own Net Zero objectives.
ADHD Certify Ltd commits to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across all scopes by 2050, with measurable interim milestones set out in this plan.
2. Organisational Overview
ADHD Certify Ltd is a CQC-registered private healthcare provider delivering ADHD assessment, diagnosis, prescribing and medication management services to adults and children across the United Kingdom. We have operated as a digital-first, remote-capable provider since March 2024, with a small administrative and clinical team supported by a network of qualified associate clinicians.
Our operational footprint is deliberately lean. The vast majority of our services are delivered remotely via video consultation, which structurally minimises travel-related emissions from the outset. We do not operate a vehicle fleet, we do not own or manage large physical premises, and we rely on cloud-hosted digital infrastructure rather than energy-intensive on-site systems. This digital-first model positions us favourably in terms of our emissions baseline relative to providers with larger physical footprints.
3. Baseline Emissions Footprint
As an organisation established in March 2024, we are in the process of formally quantifying our baseline emissions across Scopes 1, 2 and 3 in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. We anticipate completing our full baseline assessment by the end of 2026. In the interim, we have identified and assessed our primary emission sources as follows.
Scope 1 — Direct emissions. ADHD Certify Ltd does not operate a company vehicle fleet and does not own or lease premises with gas or oil-based heating systems. Our Scope 1 direct emissions are therefore considered negligible at this stage of our development.
Scope 2 — Indirect emissions from purchased energy. Our office premises consume electricity. We are in the process of quantifying our annual electricity consumption and will seek to migrate to a verified renewable energy tariff by the end of 2026, at which point our Scope 2 emissions will be significantly reduced.
Scope 3 — Value chain emissions. Our most material indirect emissions arise from the following sources: associate clinician and staff travel to in-person assessment locations where remote delivery is not possible; patient travel where in-person attendance is clinically required; and emissions associated with our cloud-hosted digital infrastructure, including servers, devices and data transmission. We are committed to measuring, reporting and reducing these emissions over the lifetime of this plan.
We acknowledge that as an SME established in 2024, our full emissions data is still being developed. In accordance with the guidance set out by NHS England on carbon reduction plan requirements for SMEs, we have provided the information currently available to us and have committed to a clear timeline for completing our full baseline assessment.
4. Current Emissions Reduction Measures
The following measures are already embedded in our operations and are actively reducing our emissions footprint.
Remote-first service delivery — the substantial majority of our assessments, follow-up appointments and medication reviews are delivered remotely via video consultation. This is a structural and permanent feature of our operating model, significantly reducing travel-related emissions for both patients and clinicians compared to traditional in-person-only models.
Cloud-based digital infrastructure — all clinical records, patient communications and operational systems are hosted on cloud platforms, eliminating the need for on-site servers and associated energy consumption. Our clinical management system, Cliniko, stores all data within the United Kingdom, reducing data transfer distances and associated emissions.
Paper-light operations — we operate almost entirely paperless processes across all clinical, administrative and governance functions, minimising paper consumption, printing and physical waste.
Flexible and remote working — administrative and operational staff work flexibly and remotely where possible, substantially reducing commuting and associated transport emissions.
Lean supply chain — we maintain a deliberately small and carefully selected supply chain, engaging only with partners and suppliers who demonstrate responsible and sustainable business practices.
Digital prescribing and pharmacy partnerships — our prescribing and medication management pathways are managed digitally and fulfilled through partner pharmacies, avoiding the need for patients to travel to physical collection points in many cases.
5. Planned Carbon Reduction Initiatives
By end of 2026 — Complete full Scope 1, 2 and 3 baseline emissions assessment in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and establish measurable reduction targets for each scope.
By end of 2026 — Transition office energy supply to a verified renewable energy tariff, reducing Scope 2 emissions to near zero.
By end of 2026 — Introduce formal environmental and sustainability criteria into supplier and associate procurement and engagement processes.
By end of 2027 — Implement a travel policy that prioritises remote delivery, minimises unnecessary in-person travel, and provides clear guidance on low-carbon travel options where in-person attendance is clinically required.
By end of 2027 — Introduce annual carbon reporting at board level, with progress against this plan published on our website and made available to commissioners on request.
By end of 2028 — Achieve measurable year-on-year reductions in Scope 3 emissions through clinician travel optimisation, digital-first pathway expansion and supply chain engagement.
By end of 2030 — Complete a full review of our emissions profile against our 2026 baseline and publish an updated Carbon Reduction Plan with revised targets for the period to 2050.
By 2050 — Achieve Net Zero across all scopes in line with our organisational commitment and the NHS Net Zero target.
6. Alignment with NHS Net Zero Targets
ADHD Certify Ltd is fully committed to supporting the NHS in achieving its own Net Zero targets, including the ambition for the NHS supplier network to reach Net Zero by 2050. We recognise that as a provider delivering services to NHS-referred patients under framework agreements, we share a responsibility to contribute to the Greener NHS agenda and to the broader health system’s environmental sustainability.
We are committed to working collaboratively with Participating Authorities to support their sustainability objectives, to provide management information relating to our environmental performance where requested, and to respond constructively to any guidance or requirements issued by NHS England or the Framework Host in relation to carbon reduction and net zero compliance.
7. Governance
Overall responsibility for sustainability and environmental governance within ADHD Certify Ltd sits with Alex Leigh, Director of Operations. Alex is responsible for ensuring that this Carbon Reduction Plan is implemented, monitored and updated in accordance with the commitments set out above.
Progress against this plan is reviewed annually at senior management level. The plan will be updated to reflect our evolving emissions baseline, any changes to our operational footprint, and any new guidance issued by NHS England, the UK Government or relevant regulatory bodies. Updated versions of this plan will be published on our website and made available to commissioners and procurement authorities on request.
Any material changes to our emissions profile or reduction trajectory will be reported to the board and reflected in a revised version of this plan without delay.
